Do YOU have what it takes?
Want to develop in-service credit courses tailored to the needs of today’s educators and students? The Idaho Education Association is initiating the Education Leadership Academy, an exciting concept in IEA-sponsored course offerings to create thoughtful educational leaders and more effective education for Idaho’s students.
The Education Leadership Academy was founded in response to a recent survey of IEA members, in which nearly 60% of the respondents indicated an interest in IEA-sponsored courses. The survey results will be used to ensure that course offerings meeting identified needs of members.
We’re looking for IEA members and other qualified educators to become instructors in the Education Leadership Academy. We seek enthusiastic presenters with, at minimum, a Master’s Degree. Selected instructors will be compensated based on the number of students who enroll and complete their designated class. Academy courses will provide one or two graduate credits and will be offered via correspondence instruction.
IF I AM SELECTED AS AN INSTRUCTOR, WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
If your proposal and application are accepted for a first review, you will receive communication from Terry Gilbert to discuss how to fully develop and submit your course. He will work with you to refine your course and present it for approval to IEA. Once approved by IEA, the course will be presented to Northwest Nazarene University (NNU) for approval. At the appropriate time, IEA will advertise the course to its members and seek to elicit as many enrollees as possible.
WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A COURSE INSTRUCTOR?
Instructors will be responsible for receiving and responding to assignments, consulting with students, assigning grades in a timely manner, and collaborating with Terry Gilbert regarding course development, student questions, and extensions of deadlines, if necessary.
WILL I BE INVITED TO TEACH THE COURSE MORE THAN ONCE?
Each course will be assessed through an evaluation of students. Those courses receiving high marks may be advertised by IEA and repeated.
